April and May 2014

April

Emma had a rash on her legs and a slight fever...so off to the ER we went

After tests and lots of waiting...they determine she had the same thing I did at her age. It is a version of strep that sounds like "potpurri" but of course I can't find the name of it now 😕
Just kinda funny we both had the same random rash at about the same age.

Goofy Girl!

Ms. Nikki at Daycare enjoyed braiding Emma's hair during the day. Here is the crimped hair after I took out her braid. She loved it!

Emma's Gymnastics award ceremony

Ryan playing catcher for this season's team - he really enjoyed the position. So did we! A lot more action to watch then when he's out in the out field!

Daycare project - Cracked us up that she listed Connor Regester as her cousin. Note that at age 5 she wanted to be a chef and loves macaroni. At least her love of cheesy things hasn't changed much!

Emma Turns 4

Emma Marie turned 4 years old on Sunday. My baby is no longer a baby anymore =/ However, she's turning into a lovely little girl. We had her Little Mermaid party at the house and invited friends and family. Sorry for the blurry photos, for some reason the camera wasn't working. Note to self: Need to check on that before Christmas!!!

Grammy (April) made Emma's Ariel cake and did a great job! It was a strawberry cake with chocolate swirled seashells and was very yummy!

Emma - making her big wish!!

Matthew, Mom, and Evan

Mason, Connor, and Ryan playing with Emma and her new Little Mermaid vanity set. Emma had a great time making all the boys look pretty =)

Emma loved this gorgeous quilt that I bought from Natalie as a birthday gift. We plan to hang it on the wall over her bed - I think it will look great in there for years to come

Miss Emma Sue - not cooperating when we asked her to pose for us in her new cowboy boots. In the background you can see the other pair she got too. She loves her new boots! I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous!

Well....she almost has it right

During Thanksgiving weekend we were at my Mom's house for the holiday. Emma was in the bathroom with my mom as she was getting ready for the day. Emma needed to use the potty and as she was doing so, she shared a few thoughts with my mom...

Emma: "Meemaw...I pee from my pirates"

Mom: "Yes, you do"

Emma: "Well, it has two names, pirates and gina"

Mom: "That's right"

Emma: "Boys have pirates"

Mom: "Yes, they do"

Emma: "They don't have ginas though"

Mom: "No, they have a penis"

Emma: "Right, they have peanuts!"

Emma's gymnastics recital

Emma has been taking gymnastics lessons for a couple of months now. For the first 4 weeks, she cried through the stretches. After that she was excited to work on the circuits and in the bouncy train. Eventually she got over her dislike of stretches and now she has a blast through the whole lesson.

At the end of each lesson the class works on a routine. Emma has been practicing at home and I think she does a pretty good job! Last night they performed for all the parents, both as a class and individually. Afterwards they each received a metal.

Ryan really wants to go to gymnastics too. So for Christmas this year, mom is giving Ryan lessons for a couple months this winter. I think he'll really enjoy it and it will help keep him active during the cold winter. He's already so strong and loves to climb and tumble, so I know this will be a good fit for him.
