Camping with the Kubats

Spring Mill State Park

We went camping with the Kubats - Mike, Natalie, Nick, and Seeger. The weather was warm and then we had a down pour the first night. Unfortunately the boys were in a tent and got flooded out!!! We also had a run in with some raccoons that stole our lunch meat. We learned some lessons that weekend, but still managed to have a good time.

Love this face! The kids were giving mini gourds to spin like tops

We took "pioneer" photo - a family photo of us without smiles. Apparently Ryan thought that meant he had to look especially tough.

Random Emma Video - 2013

I found this video of Emma saying the Pledge of Allegiance that her preschool class learned in 2013. I love watching it to hear her little girl voice and pronouncement of the bigger words. Too cute!

10 Year Wedding Anniversary Trip

Gatlinburg, TN and Bryson City, NC

View from our cabin at the top of a ridge close to downtown Gatlinburg.

Matt and I went white water rafting for the first time at a place called Nantahala in Bryson City (highly recommend checking it out). We had a blast! 4 years later and we're still talking about going down there to do it again, this time with the kids.

We rafted with four older ladies, one of them was in her 80's. Matt and I hoped we were still up for a rafting trip when we turn 80 years old! We had a lot of fun rafting them.

Our guide, was an Indiana native and a grad from School of HPER. It was great to meet him and hear some of his crazy rafting stories.

Brown County Camping - 2013 Halloween

October 26th - Camping in Brown County with Mom, Bill, Karen, Tim, and family.

I asked Emma what she wanted to be for Halloween and her answer was a "scary spider". I wasn't quite sure how I was going to pull that one off, but after a few google searches, I found a rather easy way to make spider legs. Now, looking back I realize I didn't take into account her actual arms, so she was a 10 legged spider =D

We got lots of great comments for originality this year - with mom and Bill, and Emma's costume. Matt was of course a big hit for those that had watched The Hangover this year. So much fun to have Matt catch the Halloween spirit!!!

Fall Camping Trips

This year we went camping twice with Mom and Bill in their new RV.

Camping Trip #1: Tippecanoe State Park

We took a short hike around the campgrounds with the kids and stopped off at the playground.

I love this shot that Matt took of Ryan climbing the tower

Ryan had a blast playing in the woods. He found an old log to explore

Camping Trip #2: Brown County State Park

The trees were spectacular this year! Mom and Bill stayed int he park through two weekends and it was amazing to see the trees change from mostly green to the colors displayed below.

Ryan and Emma - Mom tried to get the kids (mostly, Emma) to cooperate for a photo...this one turned out pretty well.

Unfortunately, I'm not much of a photographer, so this was it for this year's Brown county trip. We still had a nice time!
